DC Awaits Tomorrow's Nazi / KKK Rally

Several hundred Nazis and other alt-right white supremacist racists are expected to converge on Washington, DC tomorrow for a "Unite the Right 2" rally, one year after their violent riot in Charlottesville, VA resulted in the murder of counter-protester Heather Heyer. The racist cretins will be assembling in Lafayette Park across from the north portico of the White (Supremacist) House. Their leader, co-conspirator and bigot Donald "Rump" Trump, will be hiding at his golf club in Bedminster, NJ as the rally of his "very fine people" occurs in Washington.

A couple of thousand counter-protesters are expected to oppose the white supremacists, made up of members of the ANSWER Coalition, Black Lives Matter, and other groups. DC's Metropolitan Police force will be out in force to maintain the peace. Many downtown restaurants have declared that they will ban the Nazis from their establishments or close early, and Airbnb, Uber and Lyft have announced that they will allow their participants to deny service to the white supremacist marchers.

One question that hasn't been adequately answered is why the U.S. Park Service issued a permit to the Nazis and KKK marchers to begin with. Freedom of assembly? That doesn't include marches and rallies with the express purpose of instigating violence of the type we saw in Charlottesville in August 2017. Fear of offending Rump's "very fine people?" These aren't silly Tea Baggers with their "don't tax me, tax thee" sentiments. There's a limit to freedom of assembly when it impacts public health and safety, and if there were ever a textbook case of denying a permit, this was one. If there is bloodshed, the Park Service will have a lot of explaining to do.

Trump's Supporters: Three Profiles

Since neo- fascist bigot Donald "Rump" Trump is a believer in "profiling," let's profile what Rump supporters look like, starting with these two Stormtrumpers:
When police raided a home occupied by two Trump supporting neo-Nazi brothers in Mt. Sinai, New York on Thursday, it wasn't long before they realized they may have stopped another shooting like the one that happened a week ago in Orlando, Florida.
In the 6:00 a.m. raid, officers recovered six assault rifles, four rifles, a handgun, 25 high-capacity magazines, a shotgun, and some 3,000 to 5,000 rounds of ammunition. [snip]
Brothers Edward Perkowski, 29, and Sean Perkowski, 25, also had a copious supply of neo-Nazi and white power paraphernalia in their single-story suburban home, police said. And Edward Perkowski is a supporter of Donald Trump. Considering Trump's racist rhetoric, this should come as no surprise.
How about this psychopath:
A disgraced police officer called on militia members and “lone wolf patriots” to bring their guns to Cleveland to do battle with black protesters at the Republican National Convention.
“I am encouraging patriots and Trump supporters and those that support liberty and freedom to come lawfully armed with lethal and non-lethal weaponry,” said Jim Stachowiak, a right-wing activist and former police officer, in a video posted on his YouTube channel.
And this opiate entrepreneur:
A Tea Party activist who frequently argues against anti-drug measures at government meetings has been arrested for illegally selling prescription drugs.
John “J.R.” Roth was arrested Thursday night in Highland Heights, Kentucky, and charged with felony trafficking in a controlled substance after police said he sold 10 oxycodone pills to an informant, reported the Cincinnati Enquirer.
The 60-year-old Roth, who is a Donald Trump supporter and promotes “birther” conspiracy theories, is a fixture at local government meetings in Campbell County, where he complains about government spending for almost anything.  [snip]
Roth, who has been previously cited for animal cruelty and accused of domestic violence, was released from jail on bond.
If convicted, the Tea Party activist faces up to five years in jail.
We know we focus a lot on these right- wing Trump lowlifes.  That's only because there's a lot of right- wing Trump lowlifes.  (So many lowlifes, so little time.)  We should never be surprised by the ignorance, racism and hypocrisy of these people - perhaps only to the degree.

Party Over Country Every Time

For decades, Republicans have been putting party over country, working to ensure that whenever Democrats were in power, they wouldn't be able to govern as Democrats (per the irredeemable Grover Norquist), much less govern.  It's further worth recalling that shortly after President Obama's inauguration, Republicans were already meeting to develop an obstructionist strategy to frustrate his mandate and keep him from having a successful Presidency (i.e., saving the economy, health insurance for the uninsured, expanding human rights, addressing climate change, etc.).  One of the leaders of that "party over country" approach has been none other than chin- challenged human/ turtle hybrid Sen. Mitch "Missy" McConnell (R-Asshole). Of course, nothing has changed for Missy even though his party is saddled with neo- fascist hate-monger Donald "Rump" Trump:
CHUCK TODD:
I want to read you something that Erick Erickson, a conservative commentator, wrote for The Resurgent. He wrote it yesterday. "The attacks are racist. To claim someone is unable to objectively and professionally perform his job because of his race is racism. And damn the GOP for its unwillingness to speak up on this. ... [T]he party of Lincoln intends to circle the wagons around a racist. Damn them for that." What do you say to Mr. Erickson?
SENATOR MITCH MCCONNELL:
I think the party of Lincoln wants to win the White House. And the right-of-center world needs to respect the fact that the primary voters have spoken.  (our emphasis)
That's some industrial level turd- polishing from an amoral leader of an amoral party full of amoral racists that has thrown in its lot with a bigoted dolt.  History will remember (and not be kind).

Rump Roast

Now that the White House has released the President's actual birth certificate, Rethug vulgarian and egomaniac Donald "Rump" Trump has less to yammer about. Without naming Rump, it was satisfying for the President to refer to the "sideshows and carnival barkers" exploiting the non-issue. But that won't stop Rump from trying to smear the President. Rump's latest race-bating smear against President Obama is suggesting that he wasn't qualified for Ivy League schools, that he was a "terrible student" [wink wink affirmative action]. And how does Rump know this? He says it's based on things he's "heard." Salon's Alex Pareen has an interesting article about Rump's hypocrisy, noting:
"Leaving aside the fact that Obama, who went on to graduate Harvard Law magna cum laude, seems like he was probably a very good student, Mr. Trump might need a refresher course in how unqualified people actually do manage to get into the prestigious Ivy League Universities . Let us take, as an example, the story of a student so obviously unqualified, so transparently unworthy, that a book was written about what his admittance into Harvard said about the sorry behavior of supposedly elite colleges. That student -- that dull, below-average student who somehow made his way into Harvard -- was Donald Trump's son-in-law, Jared Kushner."

Rump might also have trouble explaining to his teatard followers why 54% of his $1.3 million in donations have gone to Democrats. Also, Rump has flip-flopped on everything from women's reproductive choice to raising taxes on the wealthiest Americans. He even has his menswear made in China, while bashing China for taking American jobs. So, Rump's no slave to consistency or honesty.

Department of Clueless Talk

"I have a great relationship with the blacks. I've always had a great relationship with the blacks." -- Possible Rethuglican Presidential candidate and egomaniac Donald "Rump" Trump, in an interview with an Albany, NY radio station last week.

1. We suspect he's been in a racial time capsule from the mid-1960s.
2. We also suspect his "relationship" with "the blacks" is virtually non-existent.
3. We'd like to hear about his relationship with "the Jews," etc.
