Republican Hypocrisy Watch, Part II: Elect Me And Reduce Crime!

Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) has nothing to worry about if this is the best Republicans can do in her district:

A pro-Trump Republican candidate for Congress who is aiming to unseat Ilhan Omar in Minnesota has been charged with a felony after allegedly stealing from stores.

Danielle Stella was arrested twice this year in Minneapolis suburbs over allegations that she shoplifted items worth more than $2,300 from a Target and goods valued at $40 from a grocery store. She said she denied the allegations.

Stella, a 31-year-old special education teacher, was reported this week to be a supporter of the baseless “QAnon” conspiracy theory about Donald Trump battling a global cabal of elite liberal paedophiles.

This week Stella also described Minneapolis as “the crime capital of our country”. [Ed.: Nope. It ranks #20.] She has in the past complained that local police were “overworked and overburdened” and said that, if elected, she would work to reduce crime. [Ed.: by getting out of Minneapolis and moving to Washington, DC?  Good plan!]

She's quite the hot mess -- or, in other words, a Republican.

Republican Hypocrisy Watch: Trolling For Sex

Anti-LGBTQ Tennessee Rethuglican State legislator Bill Sanderson resigned yesterday after explicit photographs of him along with explicit texts soliciting sex from much younger men were found on Grindr. His website touts him as a "conservative fighter," who is "pro-life and pro-family," fighting to "preserve the values that have defined our families for generations." The married Sanderson has a record of opposition to LGBTQ policies:

"Sanderson has voted against LGBTQ policies at the state level during his term in the statehouse. The state passed a bill preventing cities from adopting anti-LGBTQ discrimination ordinances. He also denounced the Supreme Court after they ruled that same-sex marriage bans were unconstitutional."

Sanderson owns a winery, where he's alleged to have made unwelcome advances a 19 year-old University of Tennessee man during a visit there several years ago. He's got a lot of 'splainin' to do to his "pro-family" (second) wife.

Sanderson embodies the true "values" of the rotted-out Rethuglican party, which places lying, power at any price, and greed above the values they pretend to have. While living a lie, they punish those that have chosen to be true to themselves.

Dumbya's Premature Iraqulation

As it so happens, nine years ago today aboard the U.S.S. Abraham Lincoln, former Preznit Dumbya strutted on the flight deck in his flight suit costume with some extra padding in his codpiece, before changing clothes and making a victory speech underneath a "Mission Accomplished" banner.

Sadly for Dumbya, and tragically for thousands of our nation's armed forces members and Iraqi civilians, the Iraq War continued for many more years. As we said yesterday, remember this when you hear Rethugs and their apologists in the mainstream media criticizing President Obama for "politicizing" the killing of bin Laden last year. Dumbya was arrogant enough to claim victory when there was none; the President took credit for actually accomplishing something...something that Dumbya walked away from.

GM Is Alive, and bin Laden Is Dead

You know the Rethuglicans feel vulnerable when they try to take an issue off the table (see, war on women, etc.). With the first anniversary of the killing of Osama bin Laden, the Rethugs are hypersensitive to the Obama Administration taking any credit for the achievement. Their presumed candidate, and well-lubricated weather vane Willard "Sketchy" Romney, is on record as having said in 2007 that he wouldn't have expended the resources in hunting bin Laden down.

Faced with that problem, the Rethugs are trying to take Obama's achievement off the table by criticizing the President for "politicizing" the removal of bin Laden, as if the Rethugs didn't politicize 9-11 and the Iraq misadventure (remember Dumbya's flight suit photo op on the carrier deck early in the Iraq war?). So during this election season, when you see Rethugs trying to flip the issue of the President taking credit for bin Laden's killing, remember two words: Mission Accomplished.

Rethug Crime Blotter - Sex for Meth Edition

Former Arapahoe County, Colorado, Rethuglican Sheriff Patrick J. Sullivan has been busted for providing meth in return for sex with a former male inmate he bonded out of jail, one of several he apparently had this "arrangement" with. We've stopped counting at about 153 the number of law-and-order, family values, ostensibly homophobic closeted gay Rethugs that have ended up with their kissers on the front page. If anyone out there has a running count, let us know.

The kicker to this? Patrick J. Sullivan is being held at the eponymous Patrick J. Sullivan Detention Facility. You can't make this stuff up.

Oops, He Did It Again

This time, it's alleged Rethug paragon and part-time presidential candidate Herman "Horndog Herb" Cain had a loooooong 13-year-long affair with Ginger White that ended only recently. Horndog! It might be time for you to withdraw from the race... "to spend more time with the family," of course. (You should get a good divorce lawyer, too.)

Is He Or Isn't He?

The internet tubes are abuzz with cross-chat about Marcus "Mr. Michele" Bachmann's sexual orientation.* Our favorite take from this collection by Gawker is by James Urbaniak:

"He's a cure-the-gay therapist out of a John Waters movie. I haven't seen flames this high since the last California wildfire."

* We at Hackwhackers don't give a rat's ass what anyone's sexual orientation is (nor should anyone else) -- except in cases of self-loathing hypocrites, be they heterosexual or homosexual.

A Rethuglican Jobs Program In Wisconsin

Apparently Wisconsin Gov. Scott "Too Much Johnnie" Walker doesn't feel Wisconsin is so broke that it can't help out the mistress of a fellow Rethuglican. With State and local job cuts threatened by Koch-sniffing Scottie, it's odd that State Sen. Randy "Randy" Hopper's mistress (and lobbyist) landed a job with the State's Department of Regulation and Licensing (ed. note, given Scottie's aversion to "gummint regulations," she's probably got a hatchet with her). So much for the State being "broke."

No doubt this little bit of hypocrisy will make its way into political ads, as Wisconsin's citizens continue to collect signatures for the recall of Randy Randy and their lying weasel of a Governor.

Rethug Sex Blotter - Wisconsin Union Buster Edition

Wisconsin Rethug State Senator "Randy" Randy Hopper is one of the troglodytes currently facing a recall effort due to his support for Wisconsin Gov. Scott "Too Much Johnnie" Walker's union-busting. As a full-fledged Rethug hypocrite, randy Randy has also left his wife for a 25-year old former staffer who worked alongside (under?) him -- Ed. note: if he claims it's all because he loves Wisconsin so much and has been working so hard in its interests, it's a sure sign he's maneuvering to be Wisconsin's Newt Gingrich. The upshot of this is that randy Randy's estranged wife has joined the recall effort to remove him from office! Bwahahahaha!

Letters We Wish We'd Written Dept.

From today's "Letters to the Editor" in the Kaplan Daily:

"I have never looked to either political party to be a paragon of consistency, but the news that Republicans are again trying to pass federal laws restricting abortion access...at the same time that they challenge the constitutionality of the Democrats' health-reform law has more than the usual whiff of hypocrisy.

How can it be that a federal law regulating the national health insurance market and expanding health-care coverage to millions of Americans is beyond Congress's power or somehow treads on individual liberty, while federal mandates restricting what doctors and patients can and cannot do inside a hospital room are perfectly acceptable? Does a woman's uterus have a sufficient nexus to interstate commerce that the GOP has satisfied itself on the constitutionality of Congress regulating in this area?

Perhaps the next member of the GOP to offer a soaring paean on the wisdom of limited government and the blessings of liberty should deliver it in front of a mirror."

Rethug Sex Blotter, Craigslist Edition

People wondering if the new Rethuglican majority in the House would bring with it a new sobriety and sense of responsibility have another indicator to add to the recent example of Rep. David Rivera (Rethug-FL): New York Rethuglican Rep. Christopher "Sexy" Lee. The married Lee has been busted sending a topless picture of himself (Warning: it's not pretty) to a young woman he contacted via the "Women Seeking Men" section of Craigslist. (He should've gone the safe route and hooked up with South Carolina Rethug Governor "Not Picky" Nikki Haley.)

What is it with these right-wing Rethugs and their double lives, cheating, lack of self-awareness, and overall dishonesty?

Rethuglican Hypocrisy, Cont'd.

In yet another example of Rethuglican hypocrisy, former part-time Alaska Gov. Winky You Betcha was the recipient of single-payer, public health care in Canada when she lived across the border in Alaska in her youth. The Wasilla Wingnut now denounces health care systems like those in Canada, despite having received public care in Whitehorse, Canada near her childhood home.

Too bad that Winky didn't benefit from Canada's excellent public education system at the same time.

PART II: California Rethuglican State Senator Roy Ashburn (I almost typed "Assburn"), who was arrested on drunk driving charges, has acknowledged he is gay. Ashburn has a very conservative "family values" (cough, cough) record in the State Senate, voting against gay rights numerous times.
