How Low Can You Go? (Cont.)

Responding to the recent shootings in Santa Barbara, Richard Martinez, the father of one of the victims, spoke out against the gun violence:
"Our son Christopher [Michael-Martinez] and six others are dead," Richard Martinez told reporters gathered outside a sheriff's station for a news conference the day after the shootings near the University of California, Santa Barbara, where the 20-year-old son was a sophomore. "You don't think it'll happen to your child until it does."  [snip]
"The talk about gun rights. What about Chris' right to live?" Martinez said. "When will enough people say: 'Stop this madness! We don't have to live like this! Too many people have died!"
Of course, that can't be allowed to stand, so the knuckledraggers of the gun fondler set sprang into action immediately.  Here's a small, but representative sample of their wit and wisdom:

Tea bagger Republican icon Samuel "Joe the (Not) Plumber" Wurzelbacher manned the battle station he calls his website (!):
I am sorry you lost your child. I myself have a son and daughter and the one thing I never want to go through, is what you are going through now. But:
As harsh as this sounds – your dead kids don’t trump my Constitutional rights.
Somewhat more unhinged comments came from a Twitter twit, Todd "Loose" Kincannon former executive director of the Republican Party of South Carolina, who ejaculated this:
Fuck him. He is a piece of shit. His tragedy sucks, but he blamed me for it and wants to take away my rights. The guy is trying to take away my rights to protect my family. Fuck him every day of the week and twice on Sunday. [snip]
No idea how my son will die, but I know it won't be cowering like a bitch at UC Santa Barbara. Any son of mine would have been shooting back.
Well, Todd (who apparently and most unfortunately has already bred) has made despicable remarks in the past, but this is about as Low As You Can Go.   If there's such a thing as karma, it's going to land on Todd and "Joe the (Not) Plumber" like a ton of bricks some day.

Dumbass Icon "Joe" the "Plumber" Elected to Rethug Committee

Dumbass icon "Joe" (not his real name) the "Plumber" (not his real profession) has been elected as one of some 400-odd (pun intended) representatives to the Lucas (OH) Co. Rethuglican Committee. The vote, considering "Joe's" stature as a major party celebrity and thinker, was a surprisingly narrow 38-24. Narrow, yes, but wider than his butt-crack.

OK, We Will Quote You

"Joe the Plumber -- you can quote me -- is a dumbass." -- Meghan McCain, unprompted, in an interview in OUT magazine. She also said she would be "flattered" to be considered the anti-Coulter, anti-Limpballs.

Joe (Not His Name) the Plumber (Not A Plumber) Should Follow His Own Advice

Speaking to fellow wingnut teabaggers in Houston on Saturday, Samuel Wurzelbacher wants to close our borders and "get (the undocumented immigrants) the hell out of our damn country. . ." We would go further in the case of Wurzelbacher himself. Since we're certain that "Wurzelbacher" isn't a Native American name, let's make sure that this immigrant "plumber" is at the head of the line out of the U.S. And by the way, it's interesting that he referred to our country as "our damn country." Wingnut patriotism on display for everyone to see.

Has He Flushed The GOP?

Rethuglican poster boy Joe (not his name) the Plumber (not a plumber) is saying that he's so upset with Rethuglican spending that he's quitting the party. He, of course, was unable to say what spending he'd cut, but that it wouldn't be defense, Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid, which is two thirds of the Federal budget.

Since the fall presidential campaign, Sam Wurzelbacher has been propped up by Rethug contributors and right wing outfits like "Pajamas Media," delivering monosyllabic remarks to enraptured wingnuts, and posing as a "reporter" covering the conflict in Gaza and barely able to distinguish a Palestinian from a pizza. The Rethug Party philosophy is deeply hostile to real working Americans, and has always fought for the interests of the most wealthy. Covering up this fact is a necessity for them, or they'd never win an election outside of Palm Springs. That's why they need phony props like "Joe the Plumber." Losing "Joe" is a good sign that the Rethug Party has yet to hit bottom in its popularity.

April Fools, Those Rethugs!

Just when you thought the Rethugs were just a bunch of angry, reactionary, nasty, lying, sad sacks of bile, they show they have a sense of humor!

April Fools Day gag #1: The GOP Fudgeit! Gut Medicare and provide a multi-trillion dollar windfall to the wealthiest Americans! Yeah, that's the ticket! Hee-hee!

April Fools Day gag #2: Rethugs win in NY-20! (Except that, Democrat Murphy is leading Rethug Tedisco with absentee ballots yet to be counted.) Maybe the Rethugs can arrange another Brooks Brothers riot (we hear a lot of hedge fund managers are looking for work) to assure "all the [Rethuglican] votes are counted!" Yuk-yuk!

April Fools Day gag #3: "Joe" (not his real name) "the plumber" (he's not a plumber either) talks EFCA! The brain and chief ideas man for the Rethugs, the aforementioned "Joe," ran into some problems trying to 'splain the Employee Free Choice Act, and gets heckled by some real working class people. Faux Joe the Rethug Schmo!

Down To The Last Few Minutes Of Fame

As we noted below, Joe (not his real name) the (not really a) Plumber is in Washington for the annual plague of wingnuts known as CPAC. As reported in today's WaPo, Joe was having trouble drawing a crowd at a downtown Borders, where he "spoke" and attempted to sell his "book." The WaPo reports that 11 people showed up to hear his wisdom, and he was only able to sell 5 of his books. At this rate, Joe might have to go back to work, rather than living off of wingnut welfare.

Send In The Clowns

Samuel "Joe (not his name) the Plumber (not a plumber)" Wurzelbacher, the Rethuglicans' bogus prop will be the star attraction at a House Rethuglican meeting to discuss the economic stimulus package, according to Think Progress. Guess they lack the expertise that Wurzelbacher can bring to the table, and that Alaska Gov. Winky You Betcha was busy with "state business."

How much more ridiculous can the Rethugs get? Wurzelbacher couldn't even figure out that Obama's tax policy would have been far better for him than McSame's. This dumbass is extending his 15 minutes of fame for all it's worth. Who would be surprised if the Rethugs ran him for Congress in 2010? The Rethugs are that clownish.

You Have Work To Do Here, "Joe"

It looks like the right-wing Pajamas Media kids have a new "war" correspondent: none other than Joe (really Sam) the Plumber (not a plumber). He's being sent over to Israel for 10 days to interview average Israelis about the continuing fighting in that region.

So, he's not going to Gaza, where the fighting actually is (since correspondents aren't being allowed in at present), and he'll most likely be parked in an outdoor cafe in Tel Aviv or on the beach at Haifa with a microphone interviewing some hapless Israelis who couldn't avoid him in time. Good to know that the 101st Fighting Keyboarders at Pajamas Media are serious about this conflict. A pretend plumber, pretending to be a "war" correspondent. Maybe he'll come back with a real tan on that empty bald head of his.

Joe the Ingrate

We wish that Sam "Joe the Plumber" Wurzelbacher would just go back to work, whatever work he really did. Now, Sen. McSame is wishing Sam/Joe/not-a-plumber would disappear, too, after he got slammed yesterday. Sam/Joe/not-a-plumber said that McSame "appalled" him (does he really use words like "appalled"?), and that after a "discussion" of the financial bailout with McSame, he was ready to get off the Blowing Smoke Express. Since Sam/Joe/not-a-plumber couldn't figure out that Obama's tax policy would benefit him more than McSame's, we're not sure that McSame was understood (then again, McSame was not known for his economic expertise). On the other hand, the non-plumber thought Gov. Winky You Betcha was "the real deal." She must have communicated to him in her own special way (wink, wink). One authentic person to another.

Sam/Joe/not-a-plumber would be unknown if not for McSame's cynical exploitation of this ignoramus. But of course, you could say the same for the Governor of Alaska.

An Ode to Joe

(To the tune of the "Roto-Rooter" ad song)

Call Joe the "Plumber"
That's the name
And away goes your party
Down the drain!
Joe the "Plumber!"

For a party that's fallen between the cracks.

Oh No, Not You Again

Follow up stories on the economic situation of "Joe the Plumber" have noted that he's not a licensed plumber, he makes around $40,000 per year - - not $250,000 - - and he voted Republican in last spring's Ohio primaries. Far right bloggers, in particular the unhinged Michelle "Stalkin'" Malkin, are crying foul that their fictional "average plumber" turns out to have a different story than the one that McAngry was telling.

Having Stalkin' Malkin indignantly lecture reporters about prying into the personal life of a private citizen is one of the all-time great examples of hypocrisy. The New Republic's Jonathan Cohn recalls Malkin's literally stalking the family of 12 year-old Graeme Frost last year during the debate on expanding the children's health insurance program. Far right bloggers were especially vicious and dishonest about the Frost family's situation, as the media later reported.

But now, when it comes to some truth telling about someone they've served up in a political context, they're waving their little pitchforks in phony "outrage". And Stalkin' Malkin is leading the hypocrites' parade.
