Tea Partyin' Tim Huelskamp Loses His Primary - Sad!

One of the worst tea- bagger Republicans has lost his primary race to a "moderate" Republican (along with a slew of like- "minded" state legislators).  Buh- bye:
Rep. Tim Huelskamp (R-Kansas) became just the third Republican this year to lose a primary, falling Tuesday night to Roger Marshall, an obstetrician who argued he’d be a more reasonable and effective lawmaker for Kansans. Marshall’s win all but guarantees he’ll represent the safely Republican district next year.
Huelskamp, during his three terms in Congress, developed a prickly reputation for regular dissent on GOP bills, and for two votes to oust Boehner. Huelskamp was an original member of the conservative House Freedom Caucus, a rambunctious group of roughly 40 conservatives who are often at odds with Republican leadership.
"Rambunctious."  Hmmm.  If by that you mean "crazy- as- loons nihilists."  "Prickly," though -- we'll go along with the first syllable of that.

We'll miss you, Tim! (No.)

Tea Bagger: "Stop Hiring!"

Melissa Brookstone, obergruppenmoron of Tea Party Nation, has put out a message to her fellow frothers who might actually own a business: stop hiring! You must read her sociopathic rant to believe it -- she actually wants to stop any hiring to "send a message" to the Kenyan Usurper that they're agin' his "war on business and my country." (emphasis added)

Wow! Now there's a real patriot for you, not to mention a genius and a highly moral person. Keep rooting for unemployment, crackpots!

(BONUS: Hee-hee. Wonkette has more on this harpy's screed -- "dubiously employed gasbag wingnuts"..."near-bankrupt sole proprietor of a drywall-hanging home-based business..." Haw-haw, too.)

(BONUS II: After all, if you're unemployed, it's your fault anyway!)

Boehner To Be Primaried

Davis Lewis, a 26-year-old tea bagger, has announced he will run in the Rethuglican primary against House Speaker John "Orange Boner" Boehner (Obstructionist-OH). [Let us pause for a moment of schadenfreude.] Among the reasons Lewis is running against Orange Boner is that Lewis wants to phase out Social Security, and because Orange Boner won't do that, Lewis says he's a "socialist". [Pausing for more schadenfreude.]

Brings to mind that saying, "When you lie down with dogs, you get up with fleas."

Another Tee Vee Event We Won't Be Watching

CNN, the news network that's always several months behind the times, is having its tea bagger sponsored Rethuglican candidates debate tonight. Wolf "The Situation...Room" Blitzer will be asking his "probing" questions, as will mouth-breathing, knuckle-dragging teatards in the audience ("How soon after you're elected will you arrest Hussein Obama for treason?"). Everyone will pile on Gov. Rick "Hair" Perry (Secessionist-TX) for his 1935-era "Social Security is a Ponzi scheme" campaign slogan, in a desperate attempt to curry favor with the "get your government hands off my Medicare" low-information teatard voter. There. That's all you need to know. Now you and I can choose among alternate 8 p.m. cable fare, such as A & E's "Hoarders" (going inside a teatard's home?), Bravo's "The Real Wives of Beverly Hills" (a look at the Rethug "job creator" class?), Family's "The Lying Game" (Rethuglican political strategy?), or TruTV's "World's Dumbest" (self-explanatory).

You're welcome!

Quote of the Week

"[Republicans in Congress] are not concerned about the people in the tea party. They're worried about people who can't decide which home to go to [for the holidays]." -- Sen. Claire McCaskill (D-MO), today.

Sunday Morning Reading

Lots of good stuff this morning, starting with...

-- Frank Rich on half-term half-wit Sarah Palin's remarkable resiliency in the face of multiple self-engineered train-wrecks;

-- Conservative John Batchelor on the "whiny" Rethug/teahadist House freshmen, and how their "revolution" was over on Day 1: teahadists, meet the new boss, same as the old boss;

-- Steve Benen (and Yglesias) ask the question, "Could the Rethugs be consciously trying to sabotage the economy?" With all due respect, under what rocks have you been living the past 2 years?

Enjoy!

Saturday Potpourri

Quoted from "On Faith" (Kaplan online):

"[Obama's] even-handedness led him to call for bipartisan cooperation since his first day in office...As much as I admire his adult behavior, it would be understandable if he stood up to the bullies on the right. It gets better, not by waiting and wishing but by making it clear that you demand the right to hold your head up high." -- author Deepak Chopra

"Jesus broke down barriers between people. But he did not do so at the expense of his identity, or the identity of his followers." -- Father Frank Pavone, Catholic priest and activist

Teabaggers, now that you've voted, get ready for your rogering from the Rethugs!

Buck: No Separation of Church and State

Colorado Rethug candidate for Senate Ken "*uck" Buck has opined on the issue of separation of church and state (you know, First Amendment), joining with tea bagger luminaries Sharron "Obtuse" Angle, Christine "No Dildos" O'Donnell and no doubt countless other American talibangelists in denying this fundamental premise of American democracy. While there has always been a push and pull with those, mainly on the right, who want to have (Christian) religion integrated into every aspect of American civic life, this election cycle seems to have brought out more than the usual number of numbnuts running for office who claim adherence to the Constitution but who have no real idea of what the Framers intended and what the courts have upheld over the course of two centuries.

We would be happy, if he doesn't "agree with the concept of separation of church and state," to direct Mr. Buck to a few countries where no separation exists and see how comfortable he is living there.

Tea Baggers: We Get Good Welfare, Not Bad Welfare

Few tea bagger/ Rethug candidates better demonstrate the disconnect between their idiotic, Randian rhetoric ("get gummint off my back!") and the reality of their willingness to take government benefits that they're entitled to (but think others aren't) than Alaska's "GI Joe" Miller. Matt Taibbi has an amusing piece in Rolling Stone about the...um, hypocrisy of these would-be rugged individualists (Sharron "Obtuse" Angle is another teatard example) who happily take their government benefits (Good Welfare) while railing against the "parasites" who take their unemployment insurance and other forms of social safety net benefits (Bad Welfare). All of which leads to our observation that you don't need a GPS to locate a tea bagger/ Rethug; all you need to do is plot where stupidity, selfishness, and lack of self-awareness intersect.

International Tea and Bad Faith

Two items this Sunday demonstrating, if it was ever necessary, that Americans don't hold a monopoly on intolerance and wingnut pathologies:

-- There's a far-right British group calling itself the English Defence League that is fighting the "Islamification" of British cities. These fearful souls are concerned about Sharia law being imposed in the UK and are forging links with the crackpots in this country with similar pathologies (hello, Krazy Kat Bolton and Pammy Jugs Geller).

-- Our dear friends in Canada apparently have their own Richard Nixon in the form of Prime Minister Stephen Harper, according to "Harperland," a book by journalist Lawrence Martin. Harper "is a leader of bad faith...who will put politics ahead of the national good every single day of the week," according to Martin. Plus he's got a nasty, vindictive streak that sounds more Nixonian than Canadian.

Meet the Candidate: NY Rethug Carl Paladino

Teatard favorite and Rethug candidate for Governor of New York Carl "Mr. Sensitive" Paladino has been known to send racist and "horse- on- woman- action" emails to his buddies. But this is a side of Mr. Sensitive of which we were previously unaware. However, in the great tradition of Rudy 9/11, Don Juan Ensign, Diaper Dave Vitter, Poot Gingrich, Bob Livingston, Walnuts McCain, and half the Christian right ministry, "It's OK If You're a Republican."

"Yet Another Pink-Faced Half-Wit"

Treading the nonexistent line this morning between satire and reality, the Onion gives us "yet another pink-faced half-wit", who shall remain name(Boo-Hoo)less. As a bonus, the photo accompanying the article shows a small passel of pink-faced half-wit sheeple. Priceless.

More Teatardin' History?

OK (hic)... we admit we're on this (hic) thing about the retelling (hic) of history by the inebri...inebriate...drunk. That's because it reminds us of (hic) the teatard/ Boo Hoo/ Winky (hick) world view and its True (hic) History themes: white victimization by blacks (hic), the French are to blame, and (hic) "Freedom comes from God!" This vid has it (hic) all!

NAACP's Quick Response System

Looks like the NAACP is just now considering a resolution condemning tea bagger racism. Hmmm... Welcome to the party, but where have they been for the past year?

All You Need To Know...

... about the 15 cells that constitute the "brain" of a tea bagger is contained in this 60 second spot for Alabama congressional candidate Rick "Hick" Barber. You can take this several ways: he thinks he's talking to people who've been dead for, oh, 200 years, or he has friends who like to play dress up. See, his alternate reality includes George Washington, Ben Franklin and Sam Adams. (Is it just me or does he have those Tom Smothers crazy eyes?) Students of history will note George Washington enacted the first federal tax and then had to call out the militia to put down the 1791 whiskey tax rebellion ("Gather your armies," indeed!). This fruitcake wants you to believe Obama started the IRS and tax code.

Palin's Wrecking Crew

Half-term governor and snowbilly grifter Winky You Betcha is continuing her efforts to be a king(?)maker in the Rethuglican party. Having endorsed candidates ranging from establishment non-maverick Walnuts McCain to any tea bagger filing for office, she is now backing the tea bagger, Joe "Joe" Miller, in the Senate race in Alaska. But wait, you say, isn't that seat already held by Rethug Lisa "BP's BFF" Murkowski? You are correct, sir! Thus, Winky is going against the Rethug establishment while stoking the feud that started when she ousted Murkowski's father as governor several years ago. It's a two-fer!

We're happy to see Winky making mischief in the Rethug primaries. The more tea baggers she gets nominated, the better the chance the Democrat in the race will prevail in November. In this Alaska race, it would be a pleasure to beat either BP's BFF or the tea bagger.

Teabaggers and Taxes

The whole raison d'etre of the "Tea Party" astroturf movement is embedded in their name (Taxed Enough Already). OBS (Obama Derangement Syndrome) also comes to mind. Nonetheless, one would think (hope?) that a group galvanized by a single issue would have a pretty good understanding of that issue, right?

Er... wrong. That's not just our opinion, but pretty well sums up the opinion of a former Reagan Treasury Department official and conservative think-tanker, Bruce Bartlett. Something tells us even if they understood taxes -- and that the vast majority of them probably got a Federal tax cut last year and aren't overtaxed by industrialized nation standards anyway -- they would be mad anyway because of the brown islamocommiefascist Dimmycrat in the White House. Tea Baggin' Mamas

An interesting Quinnipiac poll shows that the majority of tea baggers appear to be angry white women, 55% to 45%. An overwhelming number are Rethuglican and are big supporters of half-term former Alaska Gov. Winky You Betcha and Minnesota loon Michele "I See Commies" Bachmann. Only 5% identify themselves as independents. These aren't the "PUMAs" that were die-hards for Hillary; these tea baggers supported McNasty in 2008 all the way.

That's why we strongly support Tea Party candidates running against fellow Rethugs in 2010 and beyond. That worked so well in the New York 23rd district race last fall, when the right wing vote split between the Tea Party idiot Doug Hoffman and the Rethug establishment choice.

(And There's More: Check out Courtland Milloy's article in the Kaplan Daily about the teabaggers' racist true colors.)

Wingnut Rage on Display

As the vote nears to pass health insurance reform legislation, tea bagging wingnuts are out this week in one last display of uninformed, incoherent rage. Here are some of the signs displayed at the wingnut rally at the Capitol.

Wingnut Stupidity on Display, Too: Erstwhile teabag leader Dick "Dick" Armey, former Rethug congressman and fat cat lobbyist, demonstrated that wingnuts can also display Teh Stoopid without any problem.
