Fux's Newest Reverend

Pompous dickwad Brit "Hound Dog" Hume apparently thinks it's OK to preach his version of Christianity on the Fux Sunday poo-fling. Referring to Tiger "Hard" Woods' personal recovery from the recent scandal, Rev. Hound Dog claimed that since Woods was Buddhist, there was not the kind of path to redemption as there was in Christianity. Rev. Hound Dog then urged Hard Woods to embrace the Christian faith. The American Taliban has found a new voice!

Moreover, we're not aware of similar advice on redemption from Rev. Hound Dog for such stellar "Christians" as Mark Foley, Larry Craig, David Vitter, John Ensign, Bob Livingston, Newt Gingrich, Chip Pickering, Mark Sanford, and other members of Hound Dog's Rethug flock. Maybe he should tend to his own first.

On Fox Nutwork and the Decline of Conservatism

Sully has an interesting piece giving his perspective as a "classical" conservative (for lack of a more precise identifier) on the swill purveyed by the Fox Nutwork and how it is the enemy of true conservatism. In doing so, he pays particular attention to the Manatee and his pathologies. Note at the end who he says is the political figure representing the conservative tradition today (not that we necessarily agree, of course).

Why Does Fux News Hate America?

The White House is pushing back on the lies that Fux News is spreading about Obama Administration activities. Their latest phony "issue" is the President's active involvement in trying to get the 2016 Olympics awarded to the U.S.
Wingnuts are whining that he should be staying home -- to clean up the messes they made (But remember how Dumbya spent several days in Beijing last summer, patting the asses of some volleyball players and drinking? Guess Dumbya's time isn't as important as Obama's, even to the wingnuts.). In particular, mentally disturbed Glenn "Boo Hoo" Beck gets his share of smack down:
"Once again Fox News' Glenn Beck program has shown that nothing is worthy of respect if it can be used as a part of a partisan attack to boost ratings."
As the title of the White House statement puts it, they're trying to turn a point of pride into a moment of shame.

Fux's Fibs

As we noted yesterday, Fux "News" ran a full-page ad in the WaPo claiming that the major networks failed to cover the tea bagger march in Washington that they had feverishly promoted, with their mentally ill star Glenn "Boo Hoo" Beck leading the charge. Today, the networks responded, principally CNN which had its on-air personalities Campbell Brown and Rick Sanchez roundly denounce the Fuxers for their dishonesty.

Apparently, ABC, CBS, NBC, and MSNBC took a less visible route and issued "statements" disputing Fux's account. C'mon, you clowns, you need to forcefully push back on the lying propagandists at Fux. CNN made a good start.

What If Fux Held A Parade, And Nobody Watched?

We laughed at Fux News Channel's ad in the WaPo today, which asked how the major networks as well as MSNBC and CNN "missed" the awesomely lame wingnut march last weekend in Washington that they promoted to death. The teabagger and town hall "rallies" are simply gatherings of the most extreme losers from last year's Presidential elections, who won't accept the fact that an African-American is President. And Fux News is their beacon of misinformation, with Boo-Hoo Beck and Gauleiter Hannity holding the torches for the sheeple. They even resorted to the most transparently bogus crowd estimates ("1.5 million") to try to put it in the category as the Obama inauguration, when they drew about 5% of that number. The alternate reality that these loons live in is breathtaking. Just so they don't regain power and make us live in it too.

Fux Fail

The above graphic via Rising Hegemon provides the context of recent polls that show President Obama's approval level remaining high: the Fux Channel's attempts to "teabag" the President on April 15 were an awesome FAIL.

There was a good jab at the Fuxers at Saturday's White House Correspondents dinner, when Obama, after joking that the media voted for him, paused to say, "apologies to the Fox table" to the laughter of the entire room. After 8 years of coasting as supposedly legitimate members of the mainstream media, Fux has become a punchline, a joke that everyone gets.

Falling Apples

You have to check out this hilarious satire on the Colbert Report of Fux buffoon Sean "Manatee" Hannity's goofy "Tree of Liberty." Manatee's as dumb as a box of rocks, and is a surefire gift to the folks at Comedy Central. Enjoy.

Out-Foxed

A new Pew Research poll indicates that, by a wide margin, Americans point to the Fux News Channel as being too critical of President Obama. Some 29% identify the Fuxers when asked which of the six broadcast and cable news channels have been too critical. No channel was singled out as being too favorable toward the President. So Fux News, headed by former Reagan aide Roger Ailes, hasn't fooled many Americans into thinking that they're "fair and balanced." With a steady diet of Manatee Hannity, O'Liely, Dreck Beck, and the rest of the crew, Americans see the Fuxers for what they are: a partisan subsidiary of the Rethuglican Party.

UPDATE: Case in point: Fux caught fabricating.

Unfair and (Definitely) Unbalanced

Why are we not surprised that the Fux Channel aired 107 ads promoting the right-wing "tea parties" over the 10 days previous to April 15? Media Matters has the details.

They not only had the ads running, but all of their lame shows, from the execrable "Fox and Friends" to the Sean "Heil" Hannity show were pimping the "grass roots" tea baggings early on. They had their stellar "correspondents" from Boston to Sacramento pumping up the volume for the wingnut crowd.

Kurtz on The Fox (Abomi)Nation

WaPo's Howie "Get That Job?" Kurtz has an uncritical look at Fux's latest attempt to be relevant: "Fox Nation," its "opinionated" new web site. Opinionated? Tell us more, Howie... we're waiting... still waiting...

Well, wait all you want, but Howie (aka "Mr. Sherri Annis," Rethug strategist) doesn't want to cast any aspersions on the new web site's predictable wingnut cast (Manatee, Beck, O'Really?, Rove, etc.) and how it squares with the web site's slogan: "It's Time to Say NO to Biased Media and Say YES to Fair Play and Free Speech." Hahahahahahaha. Oh, now we get it: it's going to be a comedy web site!

Howie also wants us to know how successful Fux has been since it went anti-Obama 24/7 (it wasn't that way already??). Howie, whose columns should always be accompanied by the warning, "Reprinted by permission of the Republican National Committee, Tin Man Steele, Chairman Y'all," would be dropping all sorts of adjectives/ "pejoratives" ("far-left", "ultra liberal", etc.) if, say, MSNBC were launching a new venture. What we may never know for sure is whether Howie is performing thusly out of conviction, or whether he's afraid his wife won't grant him quarterly sex if he doesn't toe the party line.

Bringing The Funny, Wingnut Style

Wingnut blogger and host of the execrable late night "Red Eye" show on the Fux Channel. Greg "Gutless" Gutfeld, is being reamed for his comments disparaging the Canadian army forces in Afghanistan. "Isn't this the perfect time to invade this ridiculous country. They have no army," Gutless said on the very day that 4 Canadian soldiers' bodies arrived home from Afghanistan. Wingnut humor at its best. Gutless himself is a chickenhawk, having never served in the military, and has failed at everything he's worked at. Now he's parked on a cable channel in the wee hours of the morning, sharing viewership with AbBurner commercials, and isn't worthy of wiping the boots of a Canadian soldier.

Lanny Inanity

We saw this news item that Lanny "The Fanny" Davis, one of Sen. Clinton's most unhinged surrogates, is going to the Fux News channel as a contributor. The Fanny's eruptions against Sen. Obama were legendary, and his performance on CNN on the night of the Indiana and North Carolina primaries caused the other panelists to laugh at him for his over-the-top, other reality views on the state of the campaign.

He and Clinton campaign chair Terry McAuliffe were lavish in their praise for Fux's "balanced coverage" during the primaries. Translation: the Fux folks were pulling for Hillary knowing that she would energize the Rethug base which hates her, and give McSame a needed edge.

Blast From The Past

We came across this old clip of wingnut Bill Oh Really? totally losing it during a taping of an old Inside Edition show. We're glad to see that Mr. Oh Really? has always exemplified professionalism and grace under pressure.

As a Fux Network celebrity, Bill apparently learned to control the deployment of F-Bombs, instead channeling his frustrations into making naughty phone calls to female staffers.

Fuxing Around In Presidential Politics

Salon.com has a thorough write up of the links between Rudy "Toot Tooty" Giuliani and the Fux Network, and its parent company, the Rupert Murdock-run News Corp. In essence, what is being alleged in Judith Regan's lawsuit against News Corp. is that some of their key executives asked her to lie to the FBI during investigations of Giuliani buddy Bernie Kerik to protect Giuliani's presidential ambitions. Regan and Kerik had an adulterous affair (including using an apartment in lower Manhattan reserved for 9-11 rescue workers), and she may have surmised some of Bernie's mob connections at the very least. Fux News President Roger Ailes is a former Rethug media consultant, and a close personal friend of Rudy Toot Tooty's, as is Rupert Murdock.

This would seem to be a big story, certainly among the Fux Network's competitors, and some are covering it. But there are Giuliani fans embedded elsewhere in the media, who are pretending not to notice. For example, Tweety Matthews can't seem to get what on earth could be wrong here. The News Corp. should just pay Regan to go away, Tweety believes. Then he could go back to his unabashed man-love of the Mayor of 9-11, and stop pretending not to understand the problem there.

Stalkin' Malkin Still Walkin', Talkin'

Sadly No is reporting the latest from our favorite wingnut crackpot stalker and her next S-CHIP target: 2-year-old Bethany Wilkerson. The Carpetbagger Report has some info about the Wilkersons that would make it difficult for Malkin, Limpballs and the rest of the Rethug water carriers to smear the family, not that they won't give it their best shit... er, shot. If she keeps this up, even Fux "News" might be forced to "resign" her from their rats nest.. er, network. Or not. (Man, I'm having a hard time hitting the right keys this morning!)

Stalkin' Malkin Walkin'

Rabid wingnut stalker/talker Michelle Malkin is reported to be leaving Fux Network's O'Reilly Factor shriek-fest, allegedly over a verbal spat with Geraldo "Capone's Treasure" Rivera over the immigration issue a few weeks ago. However, Fox's corporate heavyweights appear to be unhappy with Malkin's bizarre stalking of 12 year old Graeme Frost, who delivered the Democratic response to the Decider's veto of children's health insurance legislation. Enraged, Malkin drove past the Frost home in Baltimore, interviewed neighbors and acquaintences of the Frosts, published false information on her website, and generally tried to dig up, pass along (or manufacture) whatever dirt she could. But, while she's gone from "O'Liely", Malkin will certainly turn up on other Fux gigs. They can't help themselves.

Mr. Whitey's Bigotry

The Faux News Channel's John "Mr. Whitey" Gibson seems intent to top his Faux News colleague Bill O'Liely with racist comments on his show. On his radio show, Mr. Whitey, in referring to the Jena, Louisiana marchers protesting the treatment of 6 black students, said that they "only wanna fight the white devil." The whitest man in America said the controversy was a "mirage of 1950s-style American segregation." This was a very similar in tone to the ones taken by white supremacist organizations, including Stormfront, that distorted the controversy and the protest march. Mr. Whitey and the Faux channel which employs him should be ashamed, but the truth is they actually believe the crap they spew.

The (Seems Like an Hour) 1/2 Hour News Hour

Amazingly enough, the Rupert Murdoch/Fux attempt at wingnut humor, otherwise known as the "1/2 Hour News Hour," is still on the air. Talk about subsidies! That abomination must be losing Rupert millions, but it's only pocket change when you're trying to prove -- in a spectacularly unsuccessful manner -- that wingnuts have a sense of humor. Happening to come across it last night as one would an infected zit, I watched long enough to see most of one "skit" involving atheist authors being interviewed. Knowing this was Fux, the "gag" could be spotted coming from waaaay over yonder: after each atheist author blasphemed, he/she suddenly was struck dead. Heh heh. Yeah, that's wingnut humor alright! A laugh-track provided the laughter, of course.

What this perfectly demonstrates is what James Waller, in his book "Becoming Evil," categorizes as one of the traits common to the authoritarian personality -- authoritarian aggression. This is defined as the tendency to be on the lookout for, and to condemn, reject, and punish people who violate conventional values. (The show clearly is a rip-off of the 1930's German radio laugh-fest "Zappen Der Juden Mit Der Lightning Bolt" - on the Fuchs Network, of course.)
